Betsey Johnson is coming to Fashion in Detroit

The Fashion in Detroit team just announced their first designer for the biggest fashion event ever in Detroit, coming this fall! None other than New York designer, Betsey Johnson, will be glamming up the Detroit runway with her unique and exuberant designs and it’s going to be spectacular!

Betsey, born in Connecticut, was originally inspired by her dance costumes as a child and has won many awards since starting her career in the fashion industry in the 1960′s . In March 2005, the Signature Awards and NAWBO-NYC committee honored Betsey with the 2005 Lifetime Achievement Award. Then, in November 2005, the Accessories Council also awarded Betsey with the Lifetime Achievement Award. To add to the list, Johnson was honored with the Designer of the Year Award at the annual Fashion Accessories Benefit Ball in May 2007. These only name a few and as you can see she is well respected and liked by many!

Betsey’s style and uniqueness can be seen in her clothes, cold weather accessories, lingerie, eye wear, shoes, belts and handbags. There’s no other American designer like her and we can’t to see what designs she brings to the Detroit show!
