February Mom of the Month
Congratulations to Christine Potter of Shelby Township! Christine is our February Mom of the Month!
Christine has won a free hair cut and color service with Dayna and/or Michele at Details Salon. The fabulous Details Salon is located at 6043 26 Mile Road in Washington Twp.
Christine has inspired those around her by showing strength and motivation even in the most trying times. In 2003, Christine’s son, Jonathan Rockwell Potter II, was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After 3 long years of fighting and holding on to hope, Jonathan passed away in her arms the night of November 20, 2006 at 11:15 pm. Jonathan was only, 11 years old.
We received two submissions in honor of Christine from two local Moms that know Christine from Holy Family Regional School, the school where Christine’s son Jonathan, attended. The two Moms who submitted her name and story would like to remain anonymous but would like Christine to know, their thoughts and prayers are still with her, and that they are continuously inspired, everyday, by her strength and motivation to keep moving forward the best way she knows how. They describe her as friendly and kind person and is always the first person there for a friend when they’re in need. She has been known to always have a smile on her face, always very well put together, and always giving a kind word to others.
Christine has 3 other children. She has a step daughter in college, a daughter in 4th grade and a son in 6th grade. She also is involved with the Foreign Exchange Program and currently has a 12th grader from Korea that she is taking care of during the school year.
We would like to thank Christine for being an inspiration to us all. Losing a child is the hardest thing a Mother can endure, but Christine is still a loving wife, great Mother and good friend to her family and friends. Her motiviation to move forward and her dedication to her family is all the inspiration we need.
