Tapper’s to open at Somerset location later this year

TROY, Mich. – Tapper’s Diamonds & Fine Jewelry is delighted to announce its plans to open the company’s third store later this year, which will be located at Somerset Collection North.  Due to open in early September, the 5,600 square foot Somerset addition will join Tapper’s flagship store in West Bloomfield and its Novi location, located inside Twelve Oaks Mall.

According to company COO Jeffrey Garden, the Tapper’s workforce will increase by approximately 25% due to the new store opening.

“We are very pleased to be expanding and hiring new employees, even in the midst of a troubled economy,” adds Howard Tapper, company owner and president.  “Our company has made the necessary adjustments over the past two years in order to reduce costs but not affect the customer experience.  Our focus on our customers has never wavered, and never will.  Without delighted customers, we do not have a business.”

Tapper’s at Somerset will “continue the company’s tradition of offering superior customer service and a luxury shopping experience,” says Marla Tapper Young.  “We’re excited to bring the amazing designer names that Tapper’s is known for to the Somerset store.”

A sampling of the dozens of luxury brands that Tapper’s Somerset store will offer include Rolex, Chopard, Tag Heuer, Raymond Weil, Roberto Coin, Judith Ripka, Ippolita, John Hardy, Hearts on Fire, Penny Preville, and Marco Bicego.

Services currently offered by Tapper’s West Bloomfield and Novi locations will be offered at Somerset as well – an on-site jeweler, custom design, watch and jewelry repairs as well as gold buying are among the store’s offerings.

Tapper’s, which will be taking over the space that was previously home to Bailey, Banks & Biddle, is excited about the prospect of expanding its geographic reach and reaching a new client base in its Troy location.

“We are excited to take our place inside the most prestigious mall in Michigan,” emphasizes Steven Tapper, co-owner of Tapper’s with his brother Howard.  “Tapper’s delivers a luxury shopping experience, and bringing that experience to the area’s most upscale shopping centre is a unique opportunity for our business.”

Tapper’s Diamonds & Fine Jewelry first opened its doors in 1977, and has established a reputation for being one of Michigan’s most trusted jewelers.  Tapper’s charitable work in the community is widely recognized and includes an annual coat drive and fundraising efforts for causes that include breast cancer, Kids Kicking Cancer, and HIV/AIDS prevention programs.
