Detroit area merchants have created a unique Holiday boutique to give you a unique shopping experience during this time of giving. Gifte-D will open it’s doors, Friday November, 19, 2010 inside the Compuware building downtown Detroit. This Holiday pop-up shop will offer books, apparel, unique & handmade works by local artists and home accessories. Wound, Motor City Sewing and Peace Love Spandex will be sharing space with a fabulously curated group of local retailers. Other local retailers will provide special services such as doggy day care, gourmet coffee, bike rentals and much much more.
The many gifted Detroiters that have come together to set up shop are also asking you to bring coats, hats, scarves and socks to help keep LOCAL homeless Detroiters warm this winter. The first day of business will start the “100 coats in 10 days” drive giving you an opportunity to help keep Detroit warm. Adult items must be clean and in usable shape, items donated for children must be brand new. The coats will be going to the guests of the Spirit of Hope Church’s Saturday Soup Kitchen.
