A new children’s “on-trend” clothing and accessories store, 77kids, has finally opened here in Michigan.  The new addition to Twelve Oaks Mall is American Eagle Outfitter’s new baby to the retail world.  Several stores, including the new Novi location, have opened across the country offering  preppy, sporty and trendy digs for both boys and girls.

As editor of glamorousmoms.com, I was invited to join the 77kids Mom Ambassadors Program and enjoyed the store last week during a private tour.  What I found was a hip new kids store with lots of personality and fun things for the kids to do!  While mom’s shop, kids can enjoy the interactive kiosks where they have an opportunity to DJ and spin musical beats, take their own photos, hang their photos on the magnetic bulletin boards and chase the animated “Gobos” on the tile floor.  Afterwards, they can pick out a piece of  free candy from the candy bar, draw on the chalk board, play with interactive child safe floor toys and, well, entertain themselves for a bit.

The store is fun, yes, but it’s safe too.  77 kids cares about the safety of your children while you shop,  so extra time and effort went into the store during construction.  The child safety features in 77 kids resembles those of no other clothing store.  The shelves in the store are double hooked, all wooden shelves have edged corners, all the metal in the store is coated and all roll racks are tip proof.

77kids not only offers clothing from sizes one to fourteen but in their  little 77 section they also offer  baby sizes zero to eighteen months. Just like it’s mother store  American Eagle Outfitters, 77 kids celebrate clothes that are trendy, real and crazy cool. Each clothing section is separated by trends and sizes.  Little 77 is the infant section offering sizes zero to 18 months, 18 mos – 5T, and for the bigger kids, sizes 5-14.  Each section carries exclusive styles and trends and the styles do not cross over so your big kid can dress showing his/her individuality without matching his/her little sibling. The clothing runs in affordable price ranges and if your in need of a good sale, clearance items are now available starting at $5.95.  Regular priced merchandise can range from $9.95 to $44.50.

Aside from the clothing, third party brands are available in the accessories section.  Little girls can pick up a pair of sandals from the Steve Madden collection and a bottle of the all natural,  Piggy Paint,  nail polish. Top trends for girls at 77kids are scarves, headbands, denim and printed T’s.  For boys, you can find more denim, skateboard plaid shorts, 3D T’s that come with 3D glasses and edgy hoodies that will make your little guy feel extra cool.

All in all, it’s exciting to have a new stylish kids store in town. But beware, once you take the kids there, they’ll have so much fun they won’t want to leave.

If your not from the Detroit area, 77kids has locations currently open in Chicago, and clusters of stores in Boston and Pennsylvania. Purchases can also be made at 77kids.com and if you click “like” on Facebook, you’ll be rewarded with fabulous coupons.
