The rules of cut off shorts

Many of you remember the gorgeous Daisy Duke and her sexy cut off shorts. What you also may remember is the feeling that you could never pull those short shorts off like she did.  Well we think that’s just Hogwash.  The new updated version of cut off denim shorts and their acceptable wardrobe pairings can be worn by just about anyone as long as a few rules are followed.

The number one rule when purchasing denim cut offs is the same as if you were to buy a great pair of jeans.  Always make sure you purchase your correct size.  Don’t look at the size tag if it bothers you.  Look at the fit.  Once you try a pair on, look at yourself in the mirror and say the first thing that comes to mind.  If they’re too tight, don’t be afraid to go up a size.  A muffin top will make you feel and look bigger than you are in the mid section.  Second, make sure the leg of the cut off is roomy enough for the thigh.  If the shorts are too tight against the thigh, access bulging will occur, again, making you look and feel bigger than your actual size. Third, it’s okay to wear your shorts tight, or short, but NEVER both at the same time. Short and tight together will give the wrong look and may even be less age appropriate than you bargain for.

Denim cut offs are universal and will match almost every top or jacket you have in your closet.  The favs of today are a white men’s t-shirt and a black boyfriend blazer  or, an off the shoulder, over sized cotton shirt and a weaved fedora.  Both looks look great with denim cut offs.  Update your cut offs with today’s hottest trends and your Daisy Duke’s will have a clean, up-to-date make over, making you look like an edgy fashion goddess.
