Say Yes to Dark Wash Denim

Say yes to Dark Denim

Last night, I had the wonderful opportunity to emcee The Village of Rochester Hills fall fashion show and one clothing item that was consistent throughout the show was dark wash denim.  Colored denim, grey denim and denim in lighter washes are quite popular for all ages, as we all know, but the darker washes are classic and are easier to transition from day to night.  In fact, all denim is acceptable as long as it’s worn the right way, at the right time and at the right place.   The dark wash denim throughout the show was mainly displayed in jeggings and skinny jeans.  Some were also displayed in a straight leg jean for both men and women.

It’s true that a darker denim is more versatile and is acceptable when worn to a variety of places and events. A darker denim can easily be dressed up with a pair of patent leather heels and a blazer or they can be worn casually with a pair of ballet flats and your favorite embellished t-shirt.  Whichever you prefer, dark denim is a must have not only for fall but year round.  Even if you are one that doesn’t wear denim on a regular basis, it’s good to have a pair on hand just in case you find yourself needing  them.

Most retailers are heavily stocked on darker denim and the most popular style this fall is either the skinny jean or a straight leg denim as mentioned earlier.   Of course though, boot cut and cropped styles are also easily available at your favorite retailer.
