On January 29, 2012, the red carpet looks at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles took everyone’s breath away, especially when stars captivated the crowd dressed in dazzling Tiffany & Co jewelry.

The charming jewels worn by SAG Award winner Emma Stone represented true Hollywood glamour on the red carpet. She also represented Tiffany’s legendary style perfectly. Hillside Funiture’s Home Entertainment Expo

Michigan’s Contemporary Furniture Authority, Hillside Furniture will be hosting their 2^nd annual Home Entertainment Expo this Saturday, January 28^th from 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday, January 29^th from 12 pm, to 6 pm. A portion of the proceeds from this year’s event will go to Kids Kicking Cancer, a nonprofit organization helping children with cancer manage the stress and pain of their disease and treatments through coaching instructed by some of the best martial artists in town.

I know it may be hard to think of pretty floral patterns right now in the dead of winter but one of the top fashion trends of 2012 is a pretty floral pattern on jeans and skirts. So if you’re staring out the window wishing the garden was a bit more colorful, don’t worry, you can add more pretty flowers in your closet to get your fix.

This year, you will start seeing skinny jeans, slacks and capris in pretty floral patterns like you’ve never seen before. Whether you’re a black and white kind of girl or one that loves to indulge in color, floral pattern jeans are the “it” jeans this year that you probably should consider. The smart way to wear them is with a solid color on top. A pretty look would be floral jeans worn with a flowing chiffon peplum blouse or a cozy off the shoulder sweater. Either way you’ll be looking pretty fab. The color on top doesn’t exactly have to be an exact match to those in the pant, just make sure they make sense. This is a trend you can certainly have fun with.

The peplum

The peplum, a term dating back from the 19th century, is a short over skirt usually attached to a fitted jacket, skirt or dress. In particular this extra piece of flared fabric is sewn to another garment so it lays “just so” and hangs from the dropping of the waist. The modern peplum that we are all more familiar with became popular as a women’s suiting design in the 1940s. During this time, suit jackets were fitted at the waist and fabric extended beyond the waist in a overskirt. From then on designers have been creating their own unique styles of peplums and the modern life of the cutsie addition emerged.

As we mentioned in our recent post, Top 12 must haves of 2012 , the peplum is a 2012 trendy must have that is geared towards keeping you feminine and modern. Peplums can be found in all sorts of styles. If your new to the peplum world choose a blouse that flares at the waist instead of ruffles. Choosing a blouse or a fitted jacket with a less obvious peplum in the beginning of your peplum journey will allow you to ease into the trend if you’re a bit shy. If you’re not one who is shy, go all out girl! The peplum is in and so is looking feminine and unstoppable.
