The second season of  Now Showcase has finally arrived and we are pleased to tell you about one of our favorite Glamorous Moms and a talented Metro Detroiter who will be attending Pret a Porter! It’s none other than the very talented Cynthia LaMaide. LaMaide is known for her environmentally conscious collection which consists of exceptional handmade designs. Cynthia will display her clothing next to some of the most prominent independent designers from around the world including; olsenHaus, Kelly Lane, Jonano and many others all of which are progressive, independent and notable designers.

LaMaide has been invited to attend the show September 3-6, 2011 in Paris and the New York Showcase event September 17- 18, 2011.

It’s time for all the ladies out there to have fun and get sassy at Rochester’s, Sass in the City Girls Night Out.  On Thursday, October 7, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. the boutiques and businesses downtown Rochester will participate together in a fun ladies night out.  The evening will entail flowers, special discounts, in store entertainment and free limo rides around town!  It doesn’t stop there, the Tuxedo Brigade gentlemen will even be there to hold your doors open, hold your umbrellas and even carry your packages if you wish.  Well well!  Talk about getting treated like a VIP!

We even heard Mijo-a’ Beauty Studio will be providing eyebrow shaping and hair styles for just $10 and will be showcasing fashions from the very glamorous Cynthia LaMaide! 

So ladies, get your shopping shoes on and join the city of Rochester for a fabulous evening!  We’ll be there too!

                    

Fashion lovers can enjoy great deals during the sidewalk sales and can even enjoy looks from top Michigan designers including  Cynthia LaMaide, dress designer Katerina Bocci and fashion designer, Joe Faris of the hit T.V. show Project Runway on Style Sunday.  Style Sunday is sponsored by Styleline Magazine and will be hosted by Michigan native Suzanne Sena.  Suzanne is known for her work on E! Channel, CBS, and Extra.  She has also interviewed Hollywood’s elite on the red carpet of the Oscars and Emmys and has even been nominated for an Emmy herself as the host of Celebrity Homes on E! Channel.

Cynthia has created movie costumes and has worked as a fashion stylist for music videos and photo shoots in New York, Miami and also right here in Detroit!  Cynthia has also just recently  been invited to exhibit her garments in the Simsthonian Art to Wear show in Washington D.C. this October. Only 35 fiber artists have been chosen to participate in this exclusive event.

Cynthia will be at her State Street booth #106, Wednesday, July 21st through Saturday, July 24th, 2010 during the Guild Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair.  Booth hours are  Wednesday through Friday 10:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Fashion in Detroit has announced Cynthia’s time slot will be covered by their Student Show featuring three top students from Michigan’s best fashion schools.  Each student will showcase one design supporting a “Motor City” theme.
